Google Sync now pushes Gmail!

Early this year Google released Google Sync , which makes your calendar and apps work is if they were on an Exchange server. Missing from the app, of course, was push capability for Gmail.

That day has come, people.

Google just announced that Google Sync now supports push Gmail for Windows Mobile (5.0 and higher). The usual caveat applies, however: If you're already using an Exchange server for other e-mail, you're out of luck.

Opera Mini Gets a Password Manager & Tabbed Browsing

Opera Mini, which is probably the best browser for BlackBerry and other Java enabled mobile phones, just got better.

Opera today released a new version of Opera Mini that includes tabs so you can open multiple web pages in the same browser simultaneously without having to close the previous ones.

Other new features in Opera Mini 5 that lot of you may find useful are copy-paste and a built-in password manager so you don t have to type your logins and passwords over and over again.

Screenshots of Opera Mini 5

Opera Mini 5 is still in beta but the good part is that you can install it alongside your existing installation of Opera Mini 4. To download Opera Mini 5, visit m.opera.com/next from your mobile phone browser and download the Opera Mini 5 installer specific to your phone.

Windows Mobile 6.5 coming on October 6.

This is an official announcement made by the Windows Mobile team on their blog . Below is a list of operators, device manufacturers who will be launching Windows Phone next month.

I find this paragraph to be quite interesting: When we started work on Windows phones, we met with people all over the world who were likely to buy a smartphone and talked with them about what s important to them in their phone. Looking at the U.S. market, for example, we found that about 15 million people in the next year will buy a new smartphone. I cannot help but wonder who these people are? Note that Windows Mobile 6.5 offers some great improvements. The one I like most is the ability to read new emails, SMSs etc without unlocking the phone first. Slide your finger on the new email icon and it opens the email account or the new email itself if there is just one. Simple but efficient.
